Asset Assistant: Data Deletion

Asset Assistant has no user accounts, and your asset register lives on your own device, not on our servers. That makes data deletion simpler than for most apps, and almost entirely in your own hands.
Deleting your data
- Everything on the device: uninstalling the app permanently erases the entire local register - assets, photos, sites, settings, credit history. There is no server copy for us to delete, and no account to close.
- Individual records: assets can be deleted (before first export) or disposed in-app; sites and settings can be edited or removed at any time.
- Your accounting system (Xero): disconnecting on the Export screen revokes the app's access. Assets already sent live in your own accounting organisation, under your control and that provider's terms; we never had a copy and cannot delete them for you.
- Encrypted backups are files you created, encrypted with your passphrase, stored where you chose. Delete them wherever you put them; we never had a copy.
Data that touches our service, and how it is deleted
- AI processing (photos/invoices): processed in transit only, never stored by us. Our AI provider (OpenAI) retains inputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes them automatically.
- Team-mode relay content: end-to-end encrypted (we cannot read it), deleted on delivery and in any case automatically within at most 60 days. An organization owner can delete the organization's relay data immediately, in-app (Team → Delete Organization).
- Usage logs (not linked to an account): deleted automatically after 12 months.
- Technical request logs (time, address requested, IP address and app identifier of each request): deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Support reports you chose to email us: kept as part of our support records for as long as reasonably necessary for the matter and for proper business records (including the establishment or defence of legal claims), then deleted.
Requests
Because there are no accounts, there is usually nothing on our side left to delete. If you believe we hold anything relating to you - for example a support report or a consented vendor-name log entry - contact info@vitalpursuit.co.za. Because nothing is linked to an account, tell us what helps us find it (for example the date and time of the request, or the reference shown in a support report or an AI result report), and we will delete what we can identify. South African data-subject rights are described in our POPIA Notice, including our Information Officer's details.
